PUP are combination of possible bundled programs that contains spyware, viruses or adware.
Acutually in the majority of cases that is not true. Software often gets identified as being a PUP due it being bundled with another softwares installer. Most PUPs are harmless, but annoying.

@roger_m : Well its just a possible case only, of course most of them may harmless as the primary symptoms of Adware based are annoying pop ups, therefore AV flags the severity level to low.

Namely RelevantKnowledge, OpenCandy, MyWebSearch, AskToolbar and many more.

Does Unchecky needs new versions of programs added in the databases?
i.e if product A version 1.0 has a PUP & Unchecky unticks the PUP.
Product A version 1.1, would Unchecky untick the PUP Or Unchecky needs product A version 1.1 in its databases?

If Unchecky needs new version in its databases then why do they go with programs instead of PUP?
i.e They should go with the PUP so that any programs/versions doesn't matter, if that PUP is there in any programs/versions will be unticked.

So, since Reason Core Security now exists.... Is Unchecky (stand-alone) and HerdProtect still going to be supported, updated and developed? Or are these tools now Reason Core Security.

Side question: "Shall I remove it"... Is that already a part of Reason Core Security?

As already discussed by other members, the developer of Unchecky said the standalone development will still be supported and available for download at unchecky.com

HerdProtect has been in BETA for some time now, it's development is slow (or delayed) for unknown reasons.

Reason Core Security offers a free and paid service, the latter provides real-time protection. Details regarding it's scanning engine is unknown, but the Free version on-demand scans is decent. It's important to note that Reason Core Security is NOT an antivirus, and only provides Anti-Adware and PUP Protection.

Both Free and Paid offer Unchecky integration, but differences with on-demand vs real-time.

Should I Remove It? doesn't appear to have been updated a lot since launch, probably because it works as it is supposed to.

Boost by Reason is another software, but I don't recommend it over CCleaner or others.

@yesnoo : Yes it needs a database, the website of Unchecky provides changelog on where they improve on detecting any bundled programs as automatic disabled.
