The More You Learn, The More There’s To Learn

When A child learns to read alphabets it thinks that it is all that’s there to learn and it has learned everything.

Then it learns to read words and finds out that there is more to learn, and it cannot learn all the words as there can be innumerable numbers of words.

After that it learns to read sentences and finds out that along with alphabets and words there can be innumerable number of sentences, and it cannot learn all of them.

And afterwards the child learns to read paragraphs, essays and stories. Then again it realizes that they can also be of innumerable numbers and its not possible for it to learn all of them.

Though, as Human beings we may think that we have a lot of knowledge the fact is that our knowledge is just like a single drop of water in a vast ocean.

So, we must keep our eyes open as in this Universe and beyond there’s so much for us to learn and much more that we can never learn.

This is such a great way to put it. Your analogy about a child learning to read really hits the nail on the head. It’s funny, you've tapped into a huge idea that thinkers have been exploring for centuries. It immediately made me think of Socrates and his famous line about "knowing that I know nothing", the idea that true wisdom starts when you realize how much you don't know.

There's also that cool 'Circle of Knowledge' visual, as the circle of what you know gets bigger, the edge of the circle (the part that touches the unknown) gets longer, too. We even see it in psychology with the Dunning-Kruger Effect, which is exactly your point, a person just starting out doesn't realize the mountain of information they have yet to learn, just like a child who has only learned the alphabet can't yet imagine all the books in a library.

I really think your conclusion is the most powerful part. Embracing the vastness of what we don’t know isn’t discouraging at all, it’s what keeps us humble, curious, and open to new things. Seriously, thanks for sharing this. It’s a fantastic reminder that the whole point of learning is to enjoy the journey, not just race to a finish line.
