Not towards HollyWood, but towards Tom Cruise, you damn straight :) lol
your right, too many mummies, the first one was pretty darn good, the rest I could do without.
I bet this will be a slightly less "child friendly" version.

If they insist on doing a reboot, I'd be interested in maybe seeing one that's much scarier. The original one was scary (to the point where I had nightmares as a child), but it also had a comedic factor. Maybe just going for a purely "horror" approach might prove refreshing.

In my opinion the third one was the worst of them all, mainly because Rachel Weisz was not in it.
According to IMDB the reboot will be based only on the original film from 1932.

Not having Rachel Weisz just killed my nostalgia of the original. And the Alex character, oh my god. Why not just use the original kid? They didn't even have the same accent. The problem with three, for me, was not just the bad plot, but the forced attempt at humor -- particularly with Jonathan's character. I never saw the 1932 Mummy, but I've read that it was a pretty scary film way back when. I just can't get past the casting of Tom Cruise...

I think the fourth movie will be much less scarier and all about Alex trying to find his "Mummy" who's changed since after the second movie in the series. Bring back Rachel Weisz.
