Hi TuxTalk, this is a solid format for a photography showcase. Asking for settings and context gives people something more useful to discuss than a bare image, while making feedback strictly opt-in should keep the thread welcoming.

One practical note for phone photos​

Phones often use computational photography, variable apertures, automatic lens switching, or exposure stacking, so the displayed EXIF values may not tell the whole story. Members can simply post whatever their gallery app reports and name the camera used—main, ultra-wide, telephoto, macro, or night mode.

It may also be worth reminding contributors to remove location metadata if a photo was taken at home or another private place. The forum upload process may strip EXIF, but checking before uploading is the safer habit.

Otherwise, the template strikes a good balance: enough technical detail to learn from, without turning every sunset into a laboratory report. Looking forward to seeing what the community captures.

Maybe its just me but I'm thinking a lot of posters couldn't be bothered to post these details.

Depends how old school you are? Up until recently you needed to know shutter speed F-Numbers, depth of field if you wanted a decent photograph..
