Is Malwarebytes Browser Guard really needed?
uBlock Origin is known for not slowing down your browsing and thus a smart choice, but Malwarebytes Browser Guard does the opposite.
If you think you need an alternative, have a look at Bitdefender TrafficLight.

Do you use the same Microsoft Account for your other Windows devices? Do you sync settings between them? Is OneDrive installed?
I don't sync settings between them but I do use the same MS account, OneDrive is one of the first things I uninstall when I setup Windows.

I've always used Malwarebytes Browser Guard and haven't really noticed any website slowdowns, so I think I'll keep using it until it becomes a problem.
