I finally got my new laptop and I think it has decent specs for a budget laptop

HP Pavilion Sleekbook 14-b014au:
-AMD E2-1800
-AMD Radeon HD 7340
-4 GB of DDR3 RAM

I'll stick to Windows Firewall as my firewall of choice, so no suggesting of 3rd party firewalls I guess.

Unless you have risky habits with it, you don't need anything else; Win8 built-in security is good enough.
Do you have Secureboot enabled?

If Secure Boot's enabled by default, then I think it is. I just use this laptop for schoolwork and some light gaming.

Edit:
Just checked the BIOS settings, yep it's enabled.

Excellent setup I'm using the same on my laptop (Windows 8).
Might want to consider adding LastPass.

Do as Littlebits suggested and then you will be fine.

Did as I was told to and added LastPass. That should prepare me for mental blocks in trying to remember passwords.

Like the setup. Only other thing that I can think of that you can add is HTTPS Everywhere, and No Script.

Fine enough, Windows 8 provide everything for you .

You may install a virtualization software beside that in case of problem it could revert everything by refresh or restore feature from its OS itself.
