if your worried about people watching you, yo ucan use tor as people only wanna catch the drug dealers and pedophiles on that if your doing anything else people wont care, and tor is safe as it goes through about 3 nodes so nobody knows where yo ucome from and your ISP doesnt know what your doing either, do not use addons or login to stuff on tor it will basically just reveal who you are example

joe average wants to private on the internet so he downlaods tor but he also wants to check his email, so joe goes to gmail and types in his email Mod Edit (Don't post your or anyone else's mail in public) he thinks he is safe but hes not :( logging in to anything on tor will reveal your name and location aslong as you dnt log into anything, download anything or install plugins your fine, tor for basic browsing is fine, but u need plugins you need to login so you have a normal browser like firefox or chrome, and get extensions like adblock, blur, ghostery etc. this very website has 1 tracker called google analytics thats what blur is telling me.

all these people who say the NSA and other 3 letter agencies are watching people online is dumb they are not watching the normal person they are looking for like drug dealing sites like silk road and pedophile rings and terrorists you think they care if your surfing on porn sites etc, trust me if these agencies want to find you they will and tor wont stop it. people seem to forget that tor was developed by the military which is part of the goverment. so unless your doing really incriminating stuff on TOR your fine and just looking at pics on porn based websites is not gonna get you in trouble with the NSA,FBI or whoever. if your not a hacker, drug seller, pedophile or terrorist you should be fine on tor

REMEMBER THE BEST PRIVACY IS YOUR MIND - dnt go on dodgy sites offering free software etc just block them ive locked down my pc so hard as i cant trust myself anymore.

1. im using open dns to block all pornograpy which includes my ISP filter to
2. ive disabled safemode so i cannot bypass filters
3.ive even bought some superglue and gonna put aload in my reset button on my router

thats how bad my paranoia is atm but hey aslong as im safe im fine

- It doesn't matter what you do, if something is illegal they will try to catch you.
- Please tell me how you would know that the NSA is not spying on the "normal person"

Also the basic user wouldn't be as paranoid as you, it seems like you're trying to hide something, but I really don't care about that.

I actually spent a whole lot of time on this, but to keep things simple I erased everything because it wasn't worth the time to finish.

like i said signing into say google or faceboo kreveals your ip address real name and location the best thing is to use a normal browser with pricvacy extensions like adblock, ghostery, blur and https everywhere, u cant be 100% anonymous online if u want to log on to stuff i dnt use social media for the sole reason of tracking i also blocked every search engine so they dnt track me to and i use firefox

Yep, you're over doing this whole paranoid thing.

If you visit any websites (which you're probably terrified of doing) you can still be tracked (assuming that those extensions don't block the trackers)

Facebook will only reveal your information if you give it to them by creating a account with all the information about you.

Blocking every search provider? Damn you seem suspicious when you say it like that, but there are some search providers that don't track you (Ex. StartPage, DuckDuckGo)

Honestly..... only people who have something bad to hide would do the stuff that you do.

(Please note that the last part is only my assumption)

Too much paranoia! First Tor doesn't encrypt the end node; that means that your package can be viewed even though "it can't be traced back to you". Second VPN's are mostly used to access the internet in public places or to access company confidentiality to encrypt sensitive data. I use VPN's to access banking or do purchases online (even though most merchants use https online but you never know) and popcorn time sometimes even though I don't care as much for this last one sometimes I just don't. So there's nothing wrong with using VPN's this is not to hide stuff from the state or the government this is a lose argument... This should be use to encrypt confidential information such as personal accounts or stuff... I know some people use this for criminal purposes but that's their problem and they might/will eventually get caught (You can't hide everything you do under the sky we share).

So helpful? Yes!

Tor has almost the same purpose which VPN has, to become anonymous. Tor Can also is used for unblocking Geo-Restricted websites. But it is not as much secure as VPN is. The reason behind the vulnerability in TOR is the process. In TOR data bounce from one IP to Another while in VPN this is not happened.
If you are looking for secure connection with reasonable speed then go with VPN.
In VPN Industry HMA is the biggest VPN provider.
