Trend Micro is a well-known Japanese IT security company.
Having already tested the home version, I'm expecting a good result from this version, which is aimed at businesses.
The interface is reminiscent of the early versions of Trend Micro (when it was called Titanium) and the product is well configured by default.
For test purposes, we decided to set it to its full potential.
Let's see how it fares.

User interface :
The interface is simple, reminiscent of older versions of Trend Micro for Home.
The administration console is simple and well thought-out, even if we did have connection problems...
The software is relatively light on the system, which is appreciated.

Web protection: 12/12
Trend Micro has blocked all malicious URLs.

Fake crack : 1/1
Trend Micro has blocked all installations of the fake crack.

Malware Pack : Remaining 31 files out of 141. - Infected - File Encrypted !
I wasn't expecting that.
Although the home version is more efficient, this business version is a real fiasco.
It got off to a good start by preventing various malware installations, but found itself up against FileLocker Ransomware, which managed to encrypt the entire machine's files without reacting.
It was therefore impossible to continue the test.
As this sample was known to several antivirus programs at the time of the test, it is unacceptable for Trend Micro not to have succeeded in blocking it!
I'm very disappointed...

Final scan : Impossible to analyse, the machine has been fully encrypted.

Final opinion:

Although the home version was effective in my test, I'm disappointed with the business version.
Despite an excellent start-up, Trend Micro was stupidly fooled by a FileLocker encrypting the entire machine, without reacting.
It's a pity, because it has a lot of potential, just like its home version.
I wouldn't recommend it at all.

Thanks for sharing your detailed review of Trend Micro Worry-Free XDR Endpoint Security 2024. It's unfortunate to hear about the issues you encountered with FileLocker Ransomware. This is certainly a concern and something that Trend Micro should address. Your feedback is valuable and will surely help other users make informed decisions. @Jengo and @Trident, any thoughts on this?

just out of curiosity, did you try the same file locker against the home version?

Kinda expected more from endpoint than maximum security, but seems there is no difference between these products except the price i guess (n)
sometimes some endpoints that are not running the new fundled AI which requires great horsepower are worse than home versions. Mainly because they are tuned against corporate apps and allowed to be a tad more lenient towards sensitivity especially towards scripts due to admin script batch jobs.

Edit: Disregard what I said above after seeing @Trident post. It looks like an identical engine to home

So the prior Home Trend Micro result is no longer looking as stellar as before.

I inspected the console after the test. Trend Micro had detected over 40 threats using Predictive Machine Learning. One of these files was a script. Trend Micro also displays probability in percentage that the file is malware. But end of the day, it struggled and it did not do well.
Despite @Shadowra executing several samples, there was no behavioural detection logged at all. The VM was compromised by more than one sample.

Trend Micro is a heavily signature-based product. On the previous test, it just had a good day. That’s all.
