Does anyone know if Trend Micro is planning to continue offering the Maximum Security product line, or are they transitioning users over to a newer product? I’m especially curious about what this means for current subscribers. I’ve also noticed that several websites where I usually buy license keys no longer seem to carry Trend Micro products at all. That made me wonder if something bigger is changing a phase-out or replacement of the product line.

If by protection people understand engines and so on, Kaleida doesn’t seem to be in any way related to that. There won’t be any substantial improvement.

Kaleida instead seems to be “log and feed to AI” kind of thing that lives in the user experience layer, continuously providing suggestions and guidance.

It will probably advise happy clickers to watch where they are going, etc.

The idea is good, the implementation by some people will be deemed privacy nightmare.

At the moment it looks like Kaleida will be running as an online platform, it doesn’t look like it will be linked to any individual family of products.

Trend Micro after they decided they will not be looking for acquirer announced plans to revive multiple product lines that were previouslyless-than-successful.

Kaleida seems to be jumping on the latest Trends(Life) and bandwagons to drive sales and revenue.

I can imagine it will be followed by a marketing campaign as well.

That’s exactly the case. The home product is just the business product (all the engines re-packed) with another agent that yes, for the last version was sort of rewritten (for another rendering engine). No substantial improvements other than that.

Trend Micro has essentially implemented an AI-powered URL checker similar to Avast Scam Guard and Malwarebytes Scam Guard. It's effectively another ChatGPT-powered tool integrated directly into the browser toolbar to help users assess the safety and legitimacy of websites. It's not bad.
