First and foremost, this program does NOT remove or add anything to the registry. This is not a registry cleaner or scanner.

The Windows Registry is a hierarchical database that stores
configuration settings and options on Microsoft Windows operating
systems.

Just like databases the registry can become bloated and large when
there has been a lot of additions and deletions from the registry. When
this happens the system can become slower and use more CPU as
programs and the operating system take longer to read and write to the
registry, just like any other database.

This program does NOT remove or add anything to the registry. What it
does is it rebuilds the registry to new files, when this happens all the
overhead is gone and the registry is smaller and faster.

Microsoft offers a manual way to do this:
How to Compress "Bloated" Registry Hives
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2498915

With this program you can now do it with one click.

Nice! I will add this to my regimen. I love registry cleaners (the good ones) as I think it speeds up the computer drastically, even more than temp file cleaning and defragging in my experience especially with PC's loaded with software.

This "compression" idea will be nice along with cleaning and defragging.

They are many freeware tools that can compress (defrag) your registry.
Good to see Tweaking.com offering their version. I'm sure it will be a good tool like all of the other tools they offer.

Thanks.:D

Of course, my dear Little bits .. Of course!

- have you read my first post in my topic about MyDefrag, please?

Optimization:
Imagine a big library with lots of books, spread out all over the building and not sorted whatsoever. There is an index telling you exactly where every book is, but you will have to walk a lot when you need several books. This is exactly what happens on your harddisk, the files that belong to an application can be all over the place, anywhere on the harddisk. Optimization will bring all the files together in one place, leaving the rest of the harddisk empty, and will sort the files, for example alphabetically.
Defragmentation and optimization will not only make a harddisk faster, but also lengthen it's life span, because the disk will have less work to do and therefore have less wear and tear. Also, it will refresh and strengthen the magnetic data on the harddisk by simply reading the (weakened) data and writing it afresh.'

'MyDefrag organizes files into zones, such as directories, Windows files, files used while booting, regular files, and rarely used files. The most accessed files are placed at the beginning of the harddisk, and files that are commonly used together are placed in close proximity to each other. This results in a dramatic speed increase, and is in fact more important than defragmentation'.

Thank you so much, J.C. Kessels!

.. that's why I'm so happy with this leading Hard Disk Compressor / Optimizer & Defragmenter MyDefrag tool ..
.. since always.

Thank you!:D

I believe you are confusing two separate types of products.

Hard Disk Defrag and Registry Defrag/ Compressor/Compactor are separate types of tools that do different jobs.

No where on MyDefrag's description does it say it defrags your registry.

Just ran it myself and it did not defrag my registry.

MyDefrag is just a Hard Disk Defragger not a Registry Defragger many users confuse the two but they are not the same.

Thanks.:D

Yes sorry, you're right, no problem to me because I prefer true:heart: Hard Disk Defragmenter ..

.. and I don't want to defragment my Registry because I don't believe in its effectiveness .. I do not believe that the 'defragmentation' of Registry may give some positive effects, on the contrary may be. This was already described a long time ago - since long time ago! An old story to tell to children to scare them, I think.

To forget, to forget, as replied my doctor.
