Troubleshoot update.downloadvault.net locks up Safari in Mac Lion

I need help from someone familiar with Macs running Lion. update.downloadvault.net locks up Safari; this is not not the more common downloadvault malware, cures for that do not touch my problem. Thanks, Zeke
PS -- none of the recommended scans run on my Mac. Are there alternative scans for Macs?

SOLVED -- Avast identified and blocked this monster when I clicked on an html file set to "open with Safari." Safari now works normally. -- Zeke
