A few times during shut-down my parent’s PC has displayed a blue screen with a message stating “Getting Windows Ready Don't Turn off Your Computer.” Nothing appears to happen and then about 2 hours later it shuts down. I’ve also noticed that I cannot get windows updates to work. The update gets to 20% and then (0x80073701) error appears. After some searching I carried out the following fixes which haven’t worked; Windows Update Troubleshooter Restart Windows Update services Reset Winsock component Flush DNS cache I followed these instructions; Reset Windows Update in Windows 10 I also followed these instructions; https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/topic/when-trying-to-install-updates-from-windows-update-you-might-receive-updates-failed-there-were-problems-installing-some-updates-but-we-ll-try-again-later-with-errors-0x80073701-0x800f0988-e74b3505-f054-7f15-ec44-6ec0ab15f3e0 I’d like this PC to continue working until the end of the year when hopefully I will have built a new PC. Any help is much appreciated.
