I have licences for other security software but I have found this current setup to suit my needs.

Any comments/suggestions for improvemnt will be appreciated

What do you mean by 'or' in your realtime protection ?
HIPS disabled in both nod32 and comodo. So you use comodo just as a pure firewall ? Why not stick with default windows firewall then ?
 
I alternate between Eset and Qihoo.
I use Comodo because it has a great behaviour bocker and auto sandbox and when set at fully virtualized its very solid.
I dont think Eset hips is needed with the "autosandboxing" feature of Comodo?
 
If there is a better way to setup Comodo in tandem with Eset, please advise!:)

Comodo is very flexible. Just play with it and learn as you go. Your house won't cave into a giant sinkhole for doing so. Just don't you be a bush ranger about it. :)

Some prefer to set ESET HIPS to "policy based". It is quieter that way, I suppose. Nothing wrong with running an auto-sandbox along side a BB or HIPS, but I probably would not have both a BB and HIPS. Personally I prefer a behavior blocker.

Quihoo could have potential, but I have never used it. It uses two solid AV engines if I remember right; Bitdefender and Avira?? I have found Bitdefender's paid suite to be buggy, but when their engine is utilized elsewhere, it seems to be more of a benefit than a detriment.

Will do!;)

Am I running the two with the proper settings ie turning off Eset hips and relying on Comodo D+ and its sandbox but with its hips off?

Comodo HIPS is never "off"; be sure you got the reboot when disabling ESET HIPS, if not the components will still be active

Ok thanks Umbra,so its ok to disable eset hips and leave Comodo to take care of that?

ESET on max settings (potentially unwanted and unsafe apps ON), add to strict cleaning, maybe enabling Advanced Heuristics, but HIPS disabled...
Comodo : enable HIPS since those in ESET worth 0,2$ :D
There's no need for qihoo in the first place with such strong AV and Firewall ;)

One more question Bora!
I dont have hips enabled in Comodo,because I read that the sandbox now automatically handles what the hips originaly did.
So therefor hips off in both comodo and Eset,with Comodo firewall behavour blocker on fully virtualized!

What do you think?

As Umbra stated, the HIPS in CFW, is never totally off.. Even when disabled, all it does is force the BB to react first, then the HIPS will kick in if needed..

i would recommend if running CFW, to chose "proactive" config, having both the BB and HIPS on ,and just disable the one in Eset.

Ok I set Hips to "safe mode", not "clean pc mode", even though I know the pc is clean

Didn't use Comodo for a while, but as I can remember I turned the HIPS on :rolleyes:
I personally didn't like what Comodo did with all that stuff in the first place, for example in Kaspersky Internet Security we have Application Control and similar things in Emsisoft, and in Comodo we have
  • HIPS
  • File Protection
  • Registry Protection
  • COM Protection
  • Behavior Blocker and
  • Sandbox
all called defence+, don't really know does HIPS components protects you from unknown apps from modifying critical system areas, or the Sandbox does it, or Behavior blocker does it. Better ask this question to some Comodo-user or listen to Umbra, he's experienced :)
