Thanks, atm I skip 'repair' solutions like registry cleaners. They are too risky and can cause damages for newbie users (like the majority of my friends :p)

I formerly just loved various freeware utilities and also spent time seeking out the best in various categories. Then one day I realized for every program that I had that I actually used to do something constructive I had about 15 utilities. Not that I really noticed as I was too busy running cleaners, scanners, editors, etc.

I've since come to really appreciate minimalism.

Advanced Uninstaller
Core Temp - useful for notebooks to see CPU temperature
Process Explorer (from www.sysinternals.com)
Recuva (from the same Piriform as CCleaner mentioned here)
PureSync - for backup
SyncBack - for backup as well
