Hello and welcome to the Vipre test! Vipre is a lesser known antivirus in Europe, but popular in America. Developed by SunbelT, then bought by GFI and now owned by ThreatTrack Security, the editor still offers its flagship product by adding features. The big news of this 2021: Vipre becomes a 2 engines AV with Vipre engine + Bitdefender ! Interface level, it's clear, and neat. We can set the antivirus as desired and everything is well explained. Level of protection, Vipre is very good! It stopped well the threats of the Web so of the pack. On the other hand, 3 concerns: 1/ The anti-phishing is in retreat, only 1 reaction (Injection of code) 2/ What is this slowness in deletion? It took 14 HOURS to remove the detected threats! Never seen before! (except with DrWeb) 3/ Even if Vipre has improved a lot on the behavioral detection, it is still not enough. Origami was able to install without any problem by modifying 2 Windows processes during the installation (rundll32.exe and MSBuild.exe ), reboot the machine by writing its boot key and display its message in the MBR. Vipre could not do anything.... It is recommendable yes, but it can do better because it is capable, efforts are still to be made! RAM Usage : Average Phishing Test : 1/4 (3 missed, 1 detected and 1 dead) Malware URL test : 10/10 (all detected) Fake crack : 1/1 (All dropper's detected) Malware Pack : Remaining 2530 files to 8076 malwares Home Malware : 0/1 => End of the test Request by @BigWrench
