Virtual Encrypted Disk for Windows 8?

I was researching into TrueCrypt, but on the supported operating systems Windows 8 or 8.1 was not listed.

FYI: I do not wish to downgrade to Windows 7, nor do I wish to risk running TrueCrypt on an unsupported OS.

I am running Windows 8, so BitLocker isn't an option for this version.

Are there any other software that support Windows 8 64-bit, if so could any be suggested? Preferably open-source and free for personal use.

I am looking to create a Virtual Encrypted Disk container, that will be mounted to allow me access to all personal and or sensitive documents.

Are there any other security issues I should be aware of when dealing with encrypted containers / disk?

I had a look at AxCrypt, but it's only a file encryption software.

off topic but is there any problem with system image backup if ur disk is encrypted?

I think there would be a problem because the disk is encrypted!
But I am not 100% sure!

Yup i think so, i think i need to decrypt the disk first & then i need to take backup. Anyways, thnx for ur suggestion, bro
