Windows 7 is no longer supported by Vivaldi since 2023:

Windows 7 and 8.1 users need to know that Vivaldi 5.7 does not support their operating systems anymore. Vivaldi announced the change back in 2022, stating that it would follow Chromium, the base of the browser.

Windows 7 is no longer supported by Vivaldi since 2023:

So what's the meaning of 142 ESR (with security fix of 143 includede)? why not 143 such as Chrome, Edge, and Brave?

Vivaldi reminds me of Libreoffice, plenty of features and customization, but there is something wrong.

The point of ESR is avoiding bugs that the Chrome developers introduce in new releases. And until a new ESR releases, those bugs are ironed out. With much less frequent feature changes that may introduce vulnerabilities, exploits or cause issues, but still want the existing features to get their security issues patched.

In one word: stability.

Vivaldi 7.8 Build 3925.56
With this release we’re raising the bar for Tab Tiling, with drag-and-drop tiling and opening links directly into tiled tabs. Alongside stability improvements and a set of carefully chosen refinements, this release is set to make your daily browsing smoother, more powerful, and more enjoyable.

With Vivaldi 7.8, we raise the bar, yet again. This release puts Tab Tiling front and center, or on the left. Or the right. Or above. Or below. Tab Tiling now has faster interactions, smarter workflows, and new ways to work with multiple pages at once, without breaking your flow.
