New Update VMware Workstation 17.6.x

yes this seems really confusing (at least for me fwiw) I have 17.6.3 build-24583834 and I get the same error shown in link when I hit Software Updates. Then to make it worse I start cycling from Broadcom support page to the next, and it's circular and I never get to download page or it wants me to login. I thought logins ended when Workstation went free. Is there a direct link to download page, or do you have to login somehow...

I'm on 17.5.2 and haven't been able to update since, just keeps throwing an error.

ChatGPT tells me there's an updated VMware Workstation 17.6.4 is out as of July 22, 2025 -- last time I updated VMware it was a pia to login and get it downloaded, but then the install went fine.

YES you are correct that Broadcom is very difficult, I logged in to Broadcom and finally got to the DL page & file and when I hit DL button it said something like "screening filter" -- ChatGPT said to just sit there and wait and eventually they'll let you download. I went to Major Geeks but I could only find this version for Linux / macOS -- So I went to techspot (iirc)
