I feel you take a risk from buying from none 'Registered Partners' & even then its worth checking to see if its still the case? For myself, it depends on the cost, I have taken a few risks & mostly been OK, but if its a long term license & expensive I'm very, very careful, to be absolutely sure, buy from the company ideally in sale or accept the risk & don't get to upset if it goes wrong, if a price is to good to be true, it likely is

I never buy from the vendor directly except for Emsisoft (student discount) and Kaspersky. I always buy my licenses from G2A and Kinguin and I almost never had any issues.

Now if you go to BD website or Eset's, you'll end up paying $50 or even more which is abosoulte insanity.

Indeed, for example Windows Pro starts at $200, you can get it for $5. In the worst case scenario, it gets invalidated and you will buy it again. Using PayPal, there is no risk.

I purchased hundreds of Windows licenses and I have never faced any issues. MS does not care as long as you keep using their services. Windows licenses (consumers) are not their main revenue. OEM licenses are the real deal.

i have spend something between like 4500-5000 eur on fortnite cosmetics / game keys/ top ups alone biggest purchase being around 450 eur and funny thing is the scammed amount was 20 eur, that i did not get back, 2 other cases i got refunded. they were around 130 & 180 eur ones

That's just a 12 year old kid scamming you for 20 EURO. Scammers target big prizes in hundreds of dollars. If it's below 20 EURO it's a kid not even a teenager.

Agree there is zero risk with PayPal. But those keys are not legit, still I support people saving money any way they can.

Look I do not blame you, but I have to tell you sth that most people I know had no idea about. I am originally from Gaza (Palestine) and almost every single paid service is not available in Palestine (Google paid services, paid Google Play apps and subscriptions, Paypal, and a lot of other services). It is political. When I was studying English Literature in 2014, I had to wait a year for Zs to clear customs of my study books (Complete works of Shakespeare and other novels). That has been my reality.

So what I am doing now is this,

I always pay subscriptions (or purchase lifetime plans) from services that sees me as a human being. Softmaker, Swifdoo, Koofr, Adguard, Bullguard, Filejump, Wondershare, O&O, Ashampoo, Kaspersky and a lot of other services and products are amog the thing I pay/paid for.

On the other hand, I would not pay a cent for Google, Microsoft, Amazon and many other companies (mostly US/Israeli). This is my choice. And I believe after 2023, there is no need to clarify nor justify my choice.

Thus, it is not piracy. I already do pay hundreds of $ per year, but not to companies who contribute to and cause the misery and suffering of my people.
