This is not a hidden feature :) It has been working like this for many years, I can't even remember when it started, but definitely since at least 2019, when Webroot joined our tests.

These logs are used to record changes made by unknown files/apps in the system. This can be used for backroll.

Well possibly or maybe, the company that last purchased Webroot, has decided that the only way to re-coup their money, is to make the product better.

This would be my hope, that their mission, and motive is to greatly improve.

Possibly they have noticed Comodo burning out of control, and said "Let's not do that". Or maybe it was Bud Light...

Either way, years and years ago they were a good Security Software.

Webroot used to brag that then the exe would fit on the old style floppy, but the monitoring files that grew & grew in WRDATA became ginormous, the advice from support was to get your offending files whitelisted by uploading to webroot, this would solve the issue until a less than mainstream poduct was updated & the process began all over again. As mentioned the forum was a worrying experience, & it was wise to use fireproof gloves on your keyboard as flames came from it, one of the mods was a Canadian welder as I remember & their defense for any failure in tests was: 'Webroot works differently to other AV's' I vowed it was one product I would never use again :)

Uh, okay but does the rollback feature just monitor all unknown files or specifically suspicious files. I can`t remember.:confused:

Now if ever there was a product that would benefit from being teamed up with Comodo it would be Webroot for sure.

Could be just a paint job but the Shadowra test will illuminate any new features or confirm that it`s just the same old marketing BS?

It reminds me of when landlords paint over "Mold" in apartment buildings this is what Webroot did!!!!!! They just painted over the crap to make it look better. They are no better than "slumlords". L0L

TH was/is a Canadian Welder? You learn something new everyday.

And yeah WRDATA issue existed back in 2014 since it always been a pain regarding I/O and data size. Not good for early SSDs which came with greatly reduced read/write cycles mean time before failure. Nowadays I don't think it's as much of an issue.

I just remember going to webroot forums back in that time and seeing the advice to delete the files in wrddata if one was certain that no infection existed.

yikes -- once upon a time in remote past I installed Webroot on Macbook Pro, total wipeout, and WR support for Mac was worthless, and this was back in the days when WR was considered reasonable AV for Windows. Proceed with caution if you must... :cautious:

Fortunately, I didn't experience any issues; Webroot was working fine. However, three years without updates makes it seem like the program has been abandoned.
