Advice Request What are the essential programs that you will still install on your Windows system in 2026, and what are the programs that you will stop using?

Please provide comments and solutions that are helpful to the author of this topic.
It's simple.;)
It's as similar as possible to CCleaner 6.39, including the layout, especially when it comes to cleaning browsers.
It can clean both the standard account and the administrator account if launched with administrative privileges from the standard account.
You can set exceptions for any false positives involving cookies and registry keys.
The installer must be signed,if possible, the uninstaller should also be signed (though this is not a requirement).
Based on your explanation, the only tool that springs to mind is Glary Utilities. I believe it is more cautious than CCleaner in terms of what should be deleted by default, but you can enable additional options, and if enabled from the settings, it can clean all accounts.

I replaced VLC with MPC-BE, which is lighter on my system.
I spent the whole afternoon restoring the video file thumbnails that had disappeared.
This isn't really my area of expertise......
Both MPC-BE and MPC-HC are lighter and easier to set up than VLC, with a better image quality.

One program that's pay but gets better that i really like is Registry Organizer, its now pretty good at removing locked registry items, I continue to pay for it because I feel its worth it, although I like freeware :)
I noticed that it completely removes Brave browser along with its services and leaves no traces. 👍

I found reg organizer on my system, from Aug 2019 I suspect there is a newer version. I used it / ran it, but seems not regularly...

Reg Organizer is updated quite regularly, you can continue to use an older version but it don't update without paying, there has been some very beneficial updates recently as to removing stubborn registry values that can be very difficult to remove manually, for myself its worth buying but we are all different??

Thanks (the MT Like rating not displaying for me on your post?) Does Reg Organizer also do a registry scan for comparison with a subsequent scan?

There is this module where you can do snapshots & compare:?

I used it yesterday to clear the Windows and applications cache (default settings), and today I found that the Start Menu problem is resolved. It seems to have been a system registry issue that Reg Organizer fixed. I hadn't used registry cleaners for three months and the problem persisted, but after using Reg Organizer, everything is working correctly now. Let's see what happens with the next Windows update.
