What happened to the malware?

Well, I was doing a test with CIS and Emsisoft, and whenever I download a malicious file, both of the scanners (Emsisoft and CIS) say it "Quarantined" the item. However, I checked both of their quarantines to find it empty, so what happened to the malware?

Try to check the configuration if its stated to be Quarantine or Delete.
