What I find interesting is that, reading through the different replies, there doesn't seem to be one search engine that works best for everyone. It feels like a lot depends on the kind of searches each person does. Maybe it would be interesting if people shared the situations where their search engine works best (technical searches, local searches, news, etc.). That would probably make it easier to understand where each one stands out and why the opinions are so different. 🌐✨

Good idea! Specifying the features and advantages of each search engine will make it easier to understand why people chose a particular search engine.

I currently use Brave Search because it gives me better answers on politics, religion, and health, among other topics, by showing great links that lead me to what I want to know. I used to use StartPage, but since it uses Bing and Google, it showed a lot of results from YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. When I search for something, I look for links to websites, not video links that can take too long to provide the information I want. In the case of StartPage, maybe this only happens in my region.

I’ve had a similar experience with search engines. I started by looking for something private without AI integration, which led me to Startpage. Then I discovered that I liked short AI answers (unlike Bing and Google, which are a bit much for me), and I found that in DuckDuckGo. However, it couldn’t answer some of my questions, so I tried Brave Search, which gave me better results. Now I’m sticking with it.

In her conclusion, she selected Brave Search as the top choice, a sentiment I share since it works perfectly for me as well. Interestingly, you don't need the Brave Browser to use it; I have set it as my default search engine across all my browsers.
really maybe I dozed the last 2 min of video, I recall she tested nagi last and liked it the best, but may the cost redirected her to Brave. Yes, I've used the Brave search with firefox, but I was not happy with the results or how displayed, maybe I need to play with more of its settings... & I'll check that video again...
