I am not sure what exactly was added, but if it was specific URLs @ googlevideo.com, these are dynamic and not the same all the time. The best way to block these ads is to use cosmetic blocking that will analyse the URL parameters and the script behaviour. Any other method will be just temporary band aid.

Such a demanding task! It is much easier to disable Vivaldi adblocker and to install uBOl.
Tomorrow or the day after, these URLs may also change or be deleted for any reason, leaving you high and dry. The uBol one is guaranteed. I don't believe that Dev will stop updating if the URL changes. It's a very popular extension, and if that happens, your reputation is at stake.

Yes, I thought about that too. Especially now that YouTube is fighting adblockers.

Don’t stress. Install one Comodo Containment and Firewall Security, and through the Firewall, choose “Block All Network Traffic”.
Ads will be efficiently eliminated at the speed of the light. No ads, no spywares and malwares.
This time, they abandoned the product and didn't even pay attention to the vulnerability that was discovered. This is unacceptable; the CVE should have been corrected, and I won't even mention the bugs, because they never fix those. In a while, they will release version 2026 and fix it, and for those who like CIS, I don't think it's even worth remembering this vulnerability next year, as it's quite possible that some will go back to using CIS or CF.

Btw the project that checks how many ads are blocked (in %) was down for a while.
Now back and running again.

With my setup, I got 96% blocked (just dns).

97% here with just DNS on mobile.

You two lost to me today, 100% blocked. ;) I had never managed to reach 100% before, but this time I did. (y)

The project is no longer official; it has been forked from the official repository. See the release note. BTW, thank you for sharing this test site with us again. (y)

This kind of test, and others like it, are unrealistic, and should be taken with a huge grain of salt.

Indeed, running adguard windows with default filters + adguard vpn, the vpn probably mess it up

Anyways i find adguard app itself best as adblocker but ublock origin lite is pretty decent nowadays and you can get it to android firefox/edge, sure you should add ublock origin instead of lite on firefox but lite does job aswell

Not a fan of blocking ads with dns, even adguard dnsfilter is enabled on adguard app and might speed up siteloading meanwhile

The one thing I will say is that the new site operator has done a better job with the page presentation. And users of his site should read his FAQ page to understand some of its limitations.

On this PC I'm now using uBlock on Firefox, Brave sorts itself out with its inbuilt system, I'm still experimenting with filters on ExpressVPN? - On my laptop I've got AdGuard for Windows - On iPhone & iPad I use the ad-blocker on ExpressVPN, which sorts out intrusive ads on some apps esp. Sky News & doesn't seem to upset other apps, such as Qobuz & BluOs, tried AdGuard app not really that impressed? - I don't bother with adblock checkers, if I see ads on sites I know something isn't working, if I don't all is well :)

I completely agree with you. With just the list of filters I added in Vivaldi, it reached 100%. Then I disabled it and used only uBOLite, tested it, and also got 100%. So, as you said, it's really unrealistic. I thought I had found the "Holy Grail" with 20 filter lists, and it fooled me good, but when I redid the tests with just uBOL, I saw that it's a scam. In short, you can't draw any conclusions from these tests. It's pure illusion, giving you the feeling that your adblock is blocking everything.

I got: 'The test may not work as expected with some browser/blocker combinations. I found that the uBlock Origin extension breaks the final result. To fix it, add adblock.turtlecute.org as an exception in uBlock rules

So got a miserable result on FF on Brave 98% so enough said :eek:

@Trident & @Divergent were trolling me lol :D

The first to post was @Trident, as if it were a joke in post #48, he said. With my configuration, I got 96% blocking (DNS only) and then right after that @Divergent in post #49 got 97% here with just DNS on his cell phone. When @Trident posted the URL, I was curious to access it. It's very similar to those childhood games where all your friends jump off the bridge into the river to swim and they say to you, "You don't jump, you coward," and they laugh at you. Are you a man or what? And, to show that you're really tough, you jump, and then boom, the problem is when you jump, you end up hurting yourself, hitting your head on a rock or something like that, it's complicated. Trident and Divergent didn't mean any harm, maybe they were trolling me and I fell for it like a fool LOL :)

I posted: 'I don't bother with adblock checkers'

Then 5 mins later did the opposite & tried the site on Tridents post, I got the result I expected, so I wont bother again :ROFLMAO:
For adblocking, I am the test; as long as cannot see ads or page breaks, the adblocker is 100%.
What I try frequently are websites for checking URL for malicious activity, and this is not a hobby, it is for ranking such websites in order of the best detection and the least false positive results; I keep bookmarks of those sites as an additional security layer.
