Heavenly Delusion Is Your New Favorite Anime.:

My Thoughts

I found out about this anime thanks to a YouTube video called:

Spring Anime 2023 In A Nutshell by the YouTube channel Gigguk:

I started watching it thanks to my brother GC recommending it several times.

This show is a mystery science fiction adventure. It likes to drag out the mystery. However, it is unique.

I think that it is pretty good. It has a surprising twist. However, I just wish they had not dragged out the mystery.

They could have finished this show in one season if they had not done that.

I think that this could have been a one season TV show, in my opinion,

I still think that it is worth watching, and I would probably rate it a 3.5 out of 5.

Thanks for the recommendation, @goodjohnjr!

I actually started watching Heavenly Delusion a while ago. I found the mystery and the atmosphere quite intriguing, but for some reason, I stopped after a few episodes and never finished it—I honestly can’t remember why!

Now that you’ve shared your thoughts on it, you’ve definitely piqued my interest again. I’ll have to start from episode one to refresh my memory and see that "surprising twist" you mentioned. Thanks for the reminder! 📺🍿✨

I’ve started watching the series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. While I have to admit it’s not the kind of show that completely hooks you to the point of counting down the minutes until the next episode, it does have some interesting elements—especially the lore surrounding the Monarch organization.

The performances by Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell help ground the show and add some solid weight, and the production quality is quite impressive for a TV series. However, I’m currently four episodes into Season 1, and I still can’t decide if I really like it or not.

I’m sharing this because if you’re a fan of the Monsterverse, you might find it to be a nice companion piece to the movies, even if it doesn’t feel like “essential viewing” on its own.

You are welcome @Halp2001.

Nice, I am glad that you got to start it, and I do recommend continuing for the twist and mystery and weirdness. ;)

I wonder where they will go with the next season, if it gets one?

@goodjohnjr I’m now at episode 6 and came across a surprising revelation: Maru tells Kiruko who he really is inside his body, due to what the “Doctor” had to do to save her after that encounter with the monster. It’s a twist that adds a lot of emotional weight and made me think that the “Paradise” they’re searching for might not be exactly what it seems… the series does a great job keeping that tension between appearances and reality. ❓🌄🏡

Wow, that was fast! Congratulations, @Halp2001, I am glad that you got to the twist. I also wonder what exactly is going on with Heaven / Paradise, the mystery, and weirdness / strangeness is even greater with that. ;)

Channel Zero: No-End House – TV Review:

My Thoughts

I liked this season better than the previous one. I appreciated the potential this story had.

It made more sense than the last season. I enjoyed some of the early creepy moments.

However, this season was longer than it should have been.

It also suffers from some of the same problems as the previous season.

One of those problems is a low-energy, boring main character.

They do not act very realistically or human most of the time. The story had more potential.

However, it went in a different, somewhat less interesting direction instead of keeping things more contained.

Additionally, the ending was weak.

Not as much was explained as I would have liked. This season was a small improvement over the previous season.

I hope that the next season will be even better than this season.

Just watched: Sell/Less :Tubi

I watched it quite a long time ago, but I must say the underlying theme is very interesting. Beyond the action, it makes you reflect on questions of identity and how far human ambition can go to transcend the end of life. Great recommendation! 🧠🔄👤

Somethng Very Bad is Going to Happen (Netflix) 8 episodes. This was a binge watcher for me 2 last night & 6 today. sorta psychological supernatural "scary movie" but in its own unique way imo, and Camilia Morrone was new to me -- now I have to watch everything she's ever done...
"A certain atmosphere of horror is felt the week before the celebration of an unfortunate wedding" / also a marriage & romance flick all rolled up into interesting story.

The 2022 American science-fiction Western horror movie Nope.

NOPE – Official Trailer:

NOPE is FUN, but… | Movie Review:

My Thoughts

When I first saw the teaser & trailer for this movie, I was not expecting it.

My first thought was that it looked like it would possibly involve UFOs / UAPs and aliens.

And / or something else that is paranormal and possibly supernatural.

I hoped and assumed that Jordan Peele would surprise us with this movie, that he would make something unique.

And that it would hopefully good and thought-provoking like his previous two movies.

The first trailer was good, but the second trailer was bad.

Unfortunately, this movie was not as good as the first trailer or his previous two movies, in my opinion.

But it was not bad.

It felt slower and longer than it should have, in my opinion.

And there was an unnecessary amount of cursing that I did not expect or like.

While I like how this movie had a twist.

I wish that they could have explored it better.

The closest they came to this was a certain scary scene inside something.

That scene was probably the scariest scene in this movie.

And I wish that more of this movie would have been like that.

Mickey’s Descent Into Madness:

My Thoughts

I did not realize that I forgot to post about this short film back in 2021. Finally, here is that post.

Ethereal Snake did it again. It is another surreal, grim, and artistic production with great voice acting.

The production values are even higher this time. Well done.

I posted about this movie before, but it was missing some of my thoughts about the movie.

What Is It?

The 2013 psychological thriller film Enemy was directed by Denis Villeneuve. It was distributed by A24.

The film was based on the 2002 novel The Double by José Saramago.

It stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Mélanie Laurent, and Sarah Gadon.

Enemy | Official Trailer HD | A24:

What Do You Like About It?

I like the mystery and confusion and how this film makes you think.

I like the cinematography. I appreciate the somewhat dream-like and surreal-like feeling.

The movie also has a somewhat strange atmosphere.

Likewise, I like Jake Gyllenhaal’s performance.

And I liked the more subtle music and sounds that compliment the scenes well.

I like how this film ends. It allows the viewer to come up with their own interpretation for this film.

Enemy – Movie Review:

What Would Someone Else Like About It?

I think that other people will like this film because it is different.

It will get them to think, and to try to come up with their own interpretation for this film.

Enemy – Denis Villenueve Review:

My Thoughts

Several years ago, I saw a trailer for a film on YouTube. It looked interesting.

It seemed like something that I would want to see.

Eventually, I forgot about the trailer and the film. I never heard or thought about it again until last year.

Double Toasted mentioned it because Korey Coleman liked this film. But Martin Thomas hated this film.

Double Toasted mentioned the name of this film, so I looked it up.

Then I realized that it was the film I remembered from a trailer I saw several years ago.

It looked intriguing. It was something I wanted to see. The film was called Enemy.

So I decided to watch the movie. The first minute or so of this movie started in an uncomfortable way.

It was strange and it bothered me.

A few other parts in this movie bothered me as well, but it helped set the tone.

After that, this film surprised me, and I liked this film even more than I thought that I would.

The yellow tone, tint, or shade of this film creates a slightly unsettling atmosphere.

Various other elements also contribute to this feeling.

It sets an interesting atmosphere and feeling to this film.

This film made me think, it confused me, but in a good way mostly.

I like the tagline for this movie. It is: “You can’t escape yourself”.

This phrase is something that I understand and relate to.

This is not a film for everyone and some parts of it bothered me, but I recommend watching it.
