What movie are you watching or planning to watch?

What Is It?

The French 2006 surrealistic science fantasy comedy romance (?) film The Science Of Sleep (La Science Des Rêves).

That was directed by the director Michel Gondry.

And stars: Gael García Bernal, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Miou-Miou, Aurélia Petit, and Alain Chabat.

My Thoughts

This movie is mostly in English.

It has some French and a bit of Spanish, which is interesting and cool in my opinion.

So you get to hear and see several languages used during the film.

I saw this movie years ago, and I liked it the first time that I saw it.

I did not like it as much the second time that I watched it, but I still liked it.

Furthermore, I liked it even less the third time when I watched some of it with my brother GC.

Who probably was not liking it because he probably thought that it was boring.

I still think that it is a creative and nice movie.

It also involves some aspects of sleep and dreams, among other topics.

This movie might somewhat remind you of another film by this director, called Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind.

I also liked that movie, possibly more than this film.

Like this film, I did not like that film as much on the second and then third viewing.

I still think that both films were creative & charming films that deserve to be watched.

This is one of those movies.

There are several scenes that will probably stand out to you.

You will want to rewatch them sometimes.

You will probably remember those scenes years later whenever you think about this film.

There are not that many movies where dreams & sleep have a somewhat larger role in the plot.

This film even has its own song called If You Rescue Me.

That is used during the film that some actors and actresses got to sing in, I think, but I could be wrong:

If You Rescue Me (Chanson des chats) (feat. Gael García Bernal, Sacha Bourdo, Alain Chabat &…:

My Thoughts

I saw this anime movie many years ago on VHS.

I still have some vague memories of some of it being a little scary, and it might be one of the first anime that I saw.

I think that the main villain may have been the inspiration for one of the standout villains.

From a dream that I had years ago.

scheduled to go to the theater tomorrow with my wife to see "The Devil Wears Prada 2" -- (well I did like the first one, and this one gets mixed reviews...)
I actually really like #1, surprised since fashion isn't my jam but it was a well written movie. Looking forward to the second (y)

I got home from The Devil Wears Prada 2, and I liked almost equally to the original. Basically the same story retold 20 years later with the same cast, and a few surprises. (y)
