This is an old song, dating from perhaps as early as the 1850s. It tells the story of a Texas Ranger company who are attacked by a band of Comanche Indians. It doesn't end well. There is evidence the song is based on a true incident.

A nice lower-range song here from Coverdale. This song is from the Restless Heart album that was originally released in 1997, but it was only available in the U.S.A. as an import and had its beginnings as a solo record for Coverdale but the record company had other ideas. The album was re-issued today. Adrian Vandenberg is the guitarist throughout the entire record.
