Thanks for the info, after trying Hotspot I wasn't pleased even with an Ad-Blocker.

I am now using OkayFreedom. :D

It has been a little bit since i tried it, i was on firefox with adblock plus "many filters", and did not have any issues as far as that went.

How is OkayFreedom? I was thinking about giving it a test run..

I use Kepard- high speed and easy to handle VPN! Besides, they have a new referral program now which offers 15 free VPN days.

So far I know that Cocoon and HotSpot SHield are free.
Security Kiss, Pro XPN and SpotFlux seem to be completely free as well.

I am going to look at TORvpn, hidemyass and switchvpn to see if they are free and then give them a test drive if they are free, not just free trials, or vpn's that cap usage.

Free versions of Cocoon and Hotspot have annoying Ads, even with an AdBlocker they're annoying.

I've used HideMyAss Proxy Extension in Chrome, it's good for the one off need/usage.

OkayFreedom has no Ads. Though a few problems connecting, but can be resolved by Restarting the Service. My biggest gripe is their Extension, whilst it's good to automatically bypass region-restrictions, it kills Outlook.com to load only a white blank page.

If I were to try another VPN, it would be CyberGhost.

I use ad-block with HotSpot and it gives me no trouble whatsoever, other than being a little slow, but I have wireless, so the wireless is partly to blame.

I see that ProXPN wants me to create and account. I get a little annoyed by that sometimes.

TORvpn, and switchVPN seem to have download and (or) time limits before eventually requiring us to pay.

So far I am interested in trying SpotFlux and Security Kiss. SpotFlux utilizes JAVA though. I had recently kicked Java off my PC, but now SpotFlux requires it, so..............

Hidemyass seems sufficient if you don't mind to cloak that way.

FYI: EVERYONE should have a proxy option for at least the internet cafes and other public internet access environments. HTTPS Everywhere and Keyscrambler would be a good idea as well.

Some proxies that require you to sign in to use may not open with HTTPS Everywhere activated; such as, Cocoon/ProXPN (username and password required).

Thanks for reminding me. I noticed that and I am willing to tolerate it for a time as long as connection and surfing speeds are good. 300MB per day is not too shabby for a free service, but it could limit you from getting a movie from NetFlix. Other than that, 300MB/day is pretty reasonable.

HotSpot is good so far (ad-block+ required), but is a little slow at times.

Cocoon is good, and seems to be much better than HotSpot for speedy downloads. It does nag a lot though and forces it's homepage. Pop-ups from cocoon don't seem to be a problem unless you open a new browser while proxied.

FYI: having "HTTPS Everywhere" turned on leaves you uncloaked even if you are connected via HotSpot, Security Kiss, or Spotflux. You won't be connecting via Cocoon with it turned on either.

I use Steganos Online Shield (same developer as OkayFreedom I believe).

Is your statement valid only for the mentioned VPNs or any others as well?
