That is certainly possible, but it is still speculation until the developer publishes a roadmap or release target. “RTM by 2028” would suggest a fairly long development cycle, and schedules can change significantly before a project reaches that stage.

Actually I do not meet the requirements for W 11, but fortunately the IoT LTSC version does not require, which I use.
Likely W12 will require NPU for AI.
Most peeps don't have that yet so it's gonna be a Mass Hardware Upgrade.

To be honest, I never saw it spike in Task Manager.
It's either a marketing gimmick or I don't use AI that much.
I also have it in my Latitude 7450. But either I am not using it or using anything that uses it, or as you said it is just marketing gimmick.
What specs do you have there?
Legacy hardware or updated,if it can get the job done,why not.
For this age, HDD is a no no and SSD is a must.
Others can be adjusted accordingly.
With Intel Core Ultra. Yeah those are new with NPU. How I wish we can use the NPU for AV scan like the way GPU can be utilized by some AV.
Agree; SSD was added to the HDD inside when bought; SSD for OS and HDD for data.
That's still ok for a Quad with SSD.
