Battle Which "Parent" Distro is Still King (Debian, Arch, Fedora, RHEL, Void, or Gentoo)?

Hi everyone,

With the landscape shifting rapidly in 2026, between the rise of immutable derivatives (like Bazzite/Aurora), the dominance of Arch-based gaming distros (CachyOS/EndeavourOS), and the steadfast reliability of Debian/RHEL, I’m curious where the members’ loyalty lies regarding the base distribution itself.

When you strip away the desktop environment and pre-configurations, which parent distro do you trust most for your daily driver or server, and why?

I thought the mainstream parent distro's were Debian, Red Hat and Arch. Debian for desktops, Red Hat for servers and Arch for gaming.

I get the impression that on MT currently Linux gets the most attention

I thought most of Linux derivatives flows from Debian. Could be wrong though? I know Red Hat is big in corporations/servers. Arch & Gentoo are popular with enthusiasts.

Fedora, fast updates - less wait time for vuln patches. Personal preference - it uses SELinux.
