I think we can agree, linux makes a great deal of difference, though before today I couldn't quite explain why I've preferred Chrome when used on linux distros. In fact, this explains one reason I've felt Chrome to be the better performer (in my humble experience) on lubuntu rather than my good old friend, that orange fox whom is still my best browsing friend on Windows!

@Viking, I personally leave both '..background apps' & '..hardware acceleration' un-checked as logically it appears to demand less from the System.

But really... Who gives a damn about RAM when all laptops/PC come with minimum 6 - 8 GB of RAM?
If you buy a car you're going to drive it or let it stand in the garage? Same applies for RAM

You won't believe how many people think that high RAM usage equals bad performance and less RAM usage equals good performance...

Considered its a multi process browser, the equality of distribution of RAM should be sufficient to avoid any crashed on tabs or whole, it may help on the steps but assurance to have a good specs of computer to solve the problem.

Every tab eats separate memory, may be this is the reason chrome is that much fast as well, the best browser, of course not suitable enough for multi tasking on slow machines, never have had any issues on my ci5 3rd gen with 4gb ram & on this ci5 5th gen 6gb ram.

I have been using Chrome for years now without any slowdown issues. Before that I was using Firefox. Chrome is way faster, simpler and better.

I'm going to close Firefox now, and open "Pac-RAM" Chrome for which "High RAM usage = high performance!
