I have both. And we're talking full system scan

And how can I solve this issue in the case of KTS? ie that it takes way longer than KVRT

Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool (KVRT) is designed to quickly identify and remove critical threats, so it scans faster. Kaspersky Total Security (KTS), on the other hand, performs a more comprehensive scan, hence it takes longer. To speed up KTS, try updating it to the latest version, reducing the number of files to scan, or schedule scans during low usage times.

I might be due to the fact that KTS stores the cache of scanned files so that it doesn't have to scan them next time. This is why subsequent scans are much faster on all AVs installed on the system. KVRT on the other hand doesn't have to worry about future scans because it is supposed to be a one-time scanner, so it doesn't store cache data. (Other members can correct me if I am wrong here).

For all these deep technicalities, Kaspersky is the best point to ask a question. We are not aware of the app internals. I’m guessing it may have something to do with the CPU usage limits. KTS had a limit of about 15% when I tested before. If the tool has 60% CPU limit, then it is normal that it will scan 4x faster.
