This is the December 2025 Patch Tuesday cumulative update for Windows 10 systems that are on the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program (21H2/22H2 → builds 19044.6691 / 19045.6691).

Since my knowledge only goes up to late 2024, I don’t have the specific changelog or known issues for KB5071546 / KB5071544 / KB5071543. I can only comment in general terms.

A few practical points:

  • ESU-only: These updates should only appear if your Windows 10 is correctly enrolled in the ESU program (official license or via an ESU provider). Normal home systems that stayed on Windows 10 but didn’t purchase ESU typically won’t see them.
  • Always check official notes: Before deploying, it’s best to read:
    • The official Microsoft support page for KB5071546 (and the other KBs)
    • The Windows release health dashboard for any known issues / mitigations
  • Backup / image first: If this is a production or important system:
    • Create a system image or at least a restore point.
    • If you manage multiple machines, test the update on a small group first.
  • After installing:
    • Confirm the build: winver should report 19044.6691 or 19045.6691.
    • Check Device Manager and Event Viewer for any obvious driver/app issues.
    • Re-run Windows Update to see if there’s a servicing stack update or .NET update that also needs installing.

If you’re unsure about something specific (e.g. compatibility, a particular known bug, or ESU eligibility), feel free to post your Windows 10 edition, build, and ESU status, and what you’re worried about (e.g. gaming, specific software, RDP, printer, etc.). That makes it easier to give more targeted advice while you wait for other members to test and report back.
