Windows 10 updates KB5006670 & KB5006667 released

The October 2021 Patch Update is now rolling out and Microsoft has published cumulative updates KB5006670 for recent versions of Windows 10.

This month's cumulative updates include security fixes for PCs with May 2021 Update (version 21H1), October 2020 Update (version 20H2), and May 2020 Update (version 2004).

The update is now rolling out via Windows Update, WSUS, and the Microsoft Update Catalog with numerous bug fixes and performance enhancements.

Like every Patch Tuesday, you can check for and install new updates by going to Settings, clicking on Windows Update, and selecting 'Check for Updates' to install the updates.

What's new in the latest cumulative update for Windows 10​

Microsoft has addressed several bugs with today's cumuilative update for Windows 10 version 2004 or later. This update advances PCs to Build 19041.1288, 19042.1288, and 19043.1288). Here's tbe full changelog:

• Updates an issue that causes the system clock to be wrong by one hour after a daylight saving time (DST) change.
• Updates an issue that causes applications, such as Microsoft Outlook, to suddenly stop working during normal use.
• Updates an issue with the Microsoft Outlook Add-in that prevents you from typing a reply.
• Updates an issue that causes blurry News and interests icons when you use certain screen resolutions.
• Updates an issue that causes News and interests to appear when you right-click the taskbar even if you have turned off that feature on your device.
• Updates an issue that might cause distortion in the sound that Cortana and other voice assistants record.
• Updates an issue that causes your device to stop working after you restart it.
• Updates an issue that prevents you from providing input to apps when the taskbar is not at the bottom of the screen.

People don't seem to care about it, but 21H2 will be distributed at the end of this month. Against the newcomer Win11, 10 will show the dignity of a veteran. However, I am sure it will be a conservative and modest update.

This update was completed quietly without any problems.

I'm looking forward to it even though it won't be much of an update. No W11 for me right now.

They said 14 October 2025 I believe, since this is October about 4 more years till windows 10 reaches EOL.

It is all right because the voyage until 2025 is promised. 11 just took off, and I think it is unstable during a sudden climb. 10 is floating gently in the satellite orbit. However, you cannot deny the possibility that minor problems might occur with future updates.

i guess to make me feel better i can say probs will occur with win 11 updates maybe too at least for a year or two if not longer but who knows
