Looks like I managed to improve it: I performed a boot-time defrag with PerfectDisk 13. I then proceeded to uninstall all of the Canon bloatware (my theory is probably that Canon IJ Network Scanner Selector EX was searching for the printer in the wifi connection before wifi was even turned on), except from the drivers itself. I also uninstalled (Samsung) Easy Settings which loaded a bunch of things I really didn't need ("MovieColorEnhancer", "Easy Speedup Manager" "SoundAlive" etc). Now, I'll probably perform SMARTPlacement defrag on PerfectDisk overnight. EDIT: turns out that Easy Settings was necessary for keyboard shortcuts. Is there any other software that provides keyboard shortcuts for things like brightness/wifi/changing the display that the PC outputs to?
