Not all, but most. Except, older security software isn't recommended to use on non-supported platforms.

Versions of Symantec Endpoint Security 12 and below won't work on 8.1. The only upgrade path will be for 12.1; the RU4 revision is still in Beta.

If memory serves all of the Norton 2013 family need to be upped to the 2014 products.

I'm not sure if this is important to you, but make sure you have "Valve Steam" and/or DVD's ready! Some of your games( New releases/Old releases) won't survive an upgrade.

Yes, they do. No compatibility issues so far. ^ ^ It's not a big deal. The system structure hasn't changed. ^ ^
