Advice Request Windows 8.1 support ends May 2014

Although Microsoft has stated that Mainstream Support for Windows 8.1 will end January 9, 2018 and Extended Support end January 10, 2023 in its Windows 8 Lifecycle Policy, Windows 8.1 users who have not yet installed or been unable to install the Windows 8.1 Update, will not be able to receive future security and general updates from the coming Patch Tuesday and beyond.

Microsoft has urged users to install this update by May 13th and will not offer Windows Updates to Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 systems. – Effectively killing support for Windows 8 and 8.1
