I don't believe you can. You get 8.1 via Store, while 8.1 Update 1= 5-6 windows updates. Maybe if you update to 8.1, these updates will be included.

I've only had 3 separate Windows Defender definition updates today.

At people with the Update 1, can you still boot to Start Screen?
