Windows defender moves to 12 updates a day.

At work we have the Defender clients running and that crap is scanning systems continuously. And not with real-time part, it seems like it's doing on-demand scan every time it's idle for a bit.

I have the same problem at work. Fortunately I received local admin rights from my colleague from IT department so I am able to cancel the scan anytime

I don't believe a careful guy like you had 5 true threats on his computer. Sounds to me like FPs.
