Dear forum users!

I hope that someone has the possibility to help me. I have attached my farbar scan file, FRST.txt.

Im getting the message "windows failed to start. a recent hardware or software change might be the cause. to fix the problem"

Computer will not boot correct. Windows (Win 7 ultimate) will not start. Startup repair does not solve problems.

Honestly speaking i have no idea... I was working on my computer late last night, and at that time my computer was running fine. I put the computer to sleep mode when i got to bed and when i woke up this morning the computer was running... which was somewhat weird! Its almost as if someone had been using my computer when i was sleeping, however nobody else has been in my condo....

Fix with Farbar Recovery Scan Tool

This fix was created for this user for use on that particular machine.

Running it on another one may cause damage and render the system unstable.

Download attached fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop:

Both files, FRST and fixlist.txt have to be in the same location or the fix will not work!

  • Right-click on
    FRST.gif
    icon and select
    RunAsAdmin.jpg
Run as Administrator to start the tool.
(XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File).
  • Press the Fix button just once and wait.
  • If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
  • When finished FRST will generate a log on the Desktop, called Fixlog.txt.

Please attach it to your reply.

Sir, just want to let you know that im not able to access my desktop, the PC does not give me the choice to start windows in Safe Mode, only Startup Repair or Normal. The only way i can do this operation is thru the Startup Repair and launch the Command Prompt.

Can you confirm i can do the operation this way?

No i am not. I tried to boot windows in normal mode two times where it failed both times. Once the windows logo appears it stands there for a couple of seconds before it restarts.
