Does anyone know what the status is of WindowsFireWallControl in relation to Malware Bytes?
I believe it's still the same: It lives under the MBAM umbrella, is offered separately as freeware and @alexandrud at Wilders remains the developer.

What @oldschool said. The website stil says "Free for everyone in the short term" and it seems in the malwarebytes forums they are still asking users with any questions about the product to email the developer.

They wanted to incorporate WFC into Malwarebytes AV, but firewalls are basically abandonware, so they just pay a negligible amount to dev to promote Malwarebytes.
I am pretty happy about it, considering what happened to products like Adwcleaner or CCleaner. WFC is a standalone product and the dev has now time to take care of it.

Gross. Every time I see WFC with that awful malwarebytes branding and colors, it reminds me why I never updated past 5.4.1.0.

Sometimes I check the recently blocked connections. I found there it blocked msmpeng.exe, which is Windows Defender Antimalware executable. It didn't even show a notification.
Why does it do that?

WFWC won't let either browser connect with it on Medium, I have to choose low, or Medium with learning mode on.

Check the rules for a block rule or just manually add a rule for your browser. Either way it should learn in learning mode the connections for your browser. I usually restart after something significant like that to ensure the rule is working properly.

Thanks I got it, I just set it to Medium and learning, then started up all my installed software and said allow. In a couple days Ill switch it from learning to none.
