Correct. Click "do not show version updates" when it shows a new version available in the GUI/popup. In a month or so there will be a new, updated giveaway. This download was the 19th (free pro) version that I have downloaded.

Depends on the region where you are. When I wrote my post yesterday I was able to install it. But the registration link from the forums took 3+ hours to arrive in my mail box (like 02:00 to 03:00 A.M. my time) so I was only able to finish the registration today and my post was only submitted this morning (its 11:37 A.M. now here in Germany).

Though there are other sites you can get the non packed installer and there are tools you can use to get the unpacked installer yourself with the official GOTD release, which I used yesterday to get the unpacked setup and atleast in the past they have been working even though the official giveaway is over. The extracted Setup worked here fine just now (just installed it on my laptop).

Yes, it has the potential to cause minor issues. Everything else is safe to use though. Surely a potential problem concerning the registry could totally avoided by not using this type of software in the first place.

It is these issues that prevents me using such a program in the first place.

i also find wisecleaner as not junk like ccleaner, but tbh i don't know if it does much - i personally use a combination of jcleaner as was recommended in this forum, along with registryfinder as was also recommended. I only make changes when I am 100% sure. I always make a system restore point before, but really, I should also be making an image backup more regularly so if something goes wrong with registry cleaning, the system can be restored. I always clean more obvious stuff, leftovers of third-party software that's clearly indicated as the sole indicator in the registry...anyway, i've also never had any issue or damange from wise registry cleaner. But yeah i stay away from ccleaner by a long shot.

The only cleaning and optimisation suite I trust is Kerish Doctor. First, I have never experienced any issues with it (except for once when it was detected by multiple vendors as PUP,but it was sorted out). Second, it receives regular updates for its algorithms. Third, develop is quite responsive and answer questions pretty fast. Third, it is cheap and there is an annual discount (usually in November).

If that is the case see comment number 13 in this thread from BigWrench. It is one of the the sites I meant with "there are other sites where you can get the unpacked installer". But since I am not sure if I should name them, I only wrote "other sites". Same for the "Tools you can use to unpack the setup". They are hard to find and atleast Windows Defenders detects it (Kaspersky could be ignoring it, because it is actually safe, though I am not sure, so I did not post the names of the tools, even though I think that these "other sites" also just used the tools or know how to do it manually.

If you mean your tunescom link, yes, that is an unpacked (GOTD stuff removed) version. That has always been the case, that that works afterwards, except if the company added an expiration date (had that on some of the ANT Download Manager setups, which made me ditch that software because no reinstallation possible).
