You're using 32-bit, so I'll assume you have around 2 GB (3 GB max) RAM? How is the performance like?

yes I try BDAV in VM. It's good, i will stick to it for a while.

I have 4 GB RAM, the performance are good.

You should consider plans about upgrading to Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8, or another OS.

Windows XP SP3 support retires April 8, 2014.

Will Open DNS improves your internet surfing? Have you tried Norton DNS? It's the best DNS so far IMO.

No need for any real-time AV. Just activate the Firewall, if not already switched on.

If you're transferring files to a Windows PC, that Windows PC should have their own AV to provide some levels of protection.

Edit: Also why Ubuntu?
