I have been running Windows 7 x64-Edition for a couple of years now with no issues until recently. I am getting this popular dllhost.exe *32 COM Surrogate issue that is clogging my processes. Several instances start running and I manually stop them only for them to restart. I have also noticed I get kicked off of the internet randomly and that my security setting won't allow me to download anything until I change them under internet tools. The settings won't stay as I set them so I constantly and going tin to enable the download files option. I don't know if any of these issues are related but they all started happening around 7-10 days ago. I use Webroot SecureAnywhere and it has not found any issues. Please help and I will be more than happy to donate to your beer fund!

Re-run FRST.exe as you did before ...

  • Download fixlist.txt that you find attached at the bottom of this post and save it same place you
  • Press the Fix button once and wait.
  • FRST will process fixlist.txt
  • When finished, it will produce a log fixlog.txt and will keep that log in the same folder where FRST.exe is.

Thank you argus.

FRST created the fixlog.txt file but FRST keep running and running and running. It states "Fixing is in progress. Please wait..." and that has been in that status for over thirty minutes. I have attached the fixlog.txt as requested. I am hoping I have followed your instructions properly and didn't screw this up. Thank you for your help!

I apologize for the delay in responding. The computer seems to be running 100% better, but I have re-run FRST and attached both files as advised. Thank you so much again for your help argus!
