Advice Request ZoneAlarm Firewall free these days? Is it worth trying it?

No worries there. Just need to compensate here It's Gapp who needs the help but ZoneAlarm will not oblige to an offline installer for the free version.

The lack of offline installer killed ZA forever for me. Too many buggy versions to just let it give you the latest every time.

It uses the Kaspersky mechanism, it also has BB. The firewall is already included in the Antivirus Free package..

I like ZoneAlarm, what I do not like is its interface (outdated), but, in addition, it has a great protection and an excellent firewall.

You can choose to get only the firewall or AV with firewall..

I used it (the FREE Firewall) on one computer for quite a while.
If I hadn't switched to ESET Internet Security on all 5 computers I would be using it on them right now.

pls share us your experience how many false/positives? how is the system impact? hard to find some tests...it seems that zonealarm is strong but
with some problems against ransomware

Nothing to share really.
I never heard a peep from it and noticed nothing with the system, no false positives.
Been told my use of the Net is why I don't hear anything from the firewall. Same for my antivirus program and Malwarebytes.

I regularly return to ZA FW free. I like its module "program control". Usually, I use it alongside with some other AV or with Zemana AL.

I think zonealarm FW free could be a good combo with bitdefender free or kaspersky free.

As for speaking about UI, some AV's still have outdated UI, as long as detection/protection modules and security software itself is kept updated, it shouldn't matter, it's not like home user every day multiple times open it. Unless you are from security forum.
