A trading terminal looks familiar enough that you barely notice the address. The chart, order controls, and wallet button all seem to be where they belong.
When you are ready to trade, a familiar name can feel reassuring. This is one visit worth examining before you go any further.

Overview
A lookalike trading site is not the real Lighter
The fake Lighter trading platform scam uses a misspelled website to impersonate a genuine decentralized exchange. The reported imitation is lihgter-dex[.]xyz.
Read the first word carefully. In lihgter, the g and h appear in the opposite order from lighter. Adding dex does not repair that identity mismatch.
Lighter’s own documentation identifies app.lighter.xyz as an official platform address. The fraudulent imitation is a separate property, not an alternative spelling of the same destination.
The trading interface supplies cover for wallet requests
The reported page imitates a trading platform and solicits wallet activity. It was described as using a drainer, a deceptive mechanism intended to help steal cryptocurrency.
That does not mean a wallet connection itself is a completed transfer. What matters next is the actual authorization, transaction, or secret information the page requests.
No funded wallet, signature, deposit, or trade was used to test the imitation. Its exact payload and beneficiary account were not independently reproduced.
The checks that should come before a trade
- Verify the exact website through independently reached official project resources.
- Do not accept a lookalike address because its trading screen appears familiar.
- Read wallet requests as authorization decisions, not routine login decoration.
- Distinguish the wallet’s activity from a balance or success message displayed by the website.
- Reject any request to disclose a recovery phrase or private key.
The illustration shows an example trading-terminal layout. Its chart values are fictional, and it is not a screenshot of the malicious page or your account.
Why a Trading Screen Can Hide the Wrong Address
A trader’s attention naturally goes to prices, positions, order size, and available liquidity. The website address can become background information once the interface looks right.
A clone takes advantage of that habit. It does not need to reproduce an entire exchange to place a convincing connection button beside a chart.
Some visible market information can be copied or sourced elsewhere. A moving price display therefore does not establish that the operator can safely process your transaction.
Nor does a familiar platform name prove where an order would execute. The website asking for access must be authenticated separately from the market it claims to show.
This is an access problem before it is a trading problem. You should not need to risk a deposit or place a small order to identify the platform.
A real exchange can also carry financial, technical, and market risks. Rejecting an impersonator is not a promise that trading on the genuine service is risk-free.
Keep those questions separate. First establish the destination, then consider whether any proposed activity is appropriate for you.
How the Fake Lighter Trading Platform Scam Works
Step 1: A familiar platform name leads to a subtly different website
The imitation’s address preserves much of the recognizable name while changing its internal letter order. That makes a quick glance less useful than a deliberate comparison.
The added dex label provides context that sounds plausible for a decentralized exchange. It does not demonstrate any relationship with the genuine project.
A deceptive destination might arrive through a message, advertisement, search listing, or copied link. The arrival route cannot be assumed from the address alone.
Even a message from someone you know deserves checking. A contact can unknowingly pass on a fraudulent link or lose control of their account.
Do not rely on a bookmark created during the suspicious visit. A bookmark preserves the address you saved, including any mistake.
Start again from a source you independently know to be official. Compare the complete hostname before interacting with the terminal.
Step 2: The terminal makes wallet access feel like ordinary onboarding
A connection button belongs in many genuine decentralized applications. That familiarity lets a counterfeit terminal present the dangerous decision as a routine preliminary step.
The visitor may believe they are merely opening an account view. The website can then use that connection to present further requests.
Those requests need to be judged individually. A website can describe something as connecting while the genuine wallet displays a different action.
Stop if you cannot explain the account, network, and authority involved. A busy chart should not distract you from a prompt affecting actual assets.
Do not switch off wallet warnings because the terminal claims they are a compatibility problem. Protection that interrupts the process is a reason to investigate, not bypass it.
A supposed support chat inside the same terminal is not an independent adviser. Its answers can be controlled by whoever operates the page.
If you need help, leave the imitation and locate support through the genuine project’s independently verified resources.
Step 3: A deceptive authorization can expose existing holdings
The reported threat is a wallet drainer, not a poor trade or an unfavorable execution price. Its objective is to obtain access that benefits the attacker.
A malicious request might involve a transfer, a spending permission, or another consequential signature. The specific request must be examined before deciding what was exposed.
Do not assume every signature is harmless because it has no obvious amount. The meaning depends on the request, application, and network.
Equally, do not assume that merely viewing the website proves a theft. A reliable incident assessment distinguishes page visits, connections, approvals, and completed transactions.
A request for recovery words crosses a separate boundary. Those words can recreate wallet control and should never be handed to a trading website.
Step 4: The victim may mistake a wallet loss for a platform issue
When a terminal looks genuine, an unexpected result can be interpreted as a delayed deposit, failed trade, or account synchronization problem.
That interpretation can keep someone interacting with the same operator. They may reconnect, approve another prompt, or accept instructions to repair a supposed technical error.
Do not add money to test whether withdrawals or deposits are working. A new transfer cannot authenticate the destination that is already in doubt.
Open the genuine wallet separately and inspect actual activity. Compare the transaction details with what you intended to authorize.
If an asset moved, preserve its network, transaction identifier, and destination. If authority remains, investigate it through trusted wallet guidance rather than the imitation’s controls.
Base your response on the wallet record. Do not send more money because the imitation describes the loss as a technical problem.
How to Identify the Genuine Platform Without Using the Clone
Check the project’s own documentation
Lighter’s documentation supplies its platform link. Reach official resources independently instead of trusting a documentation button placed on the suspect page.
A clone can link to genuine documents to look credible. Following one genuine link from it would not authenticate the original trading terminal.
Check the relationship in the useful direction: from the verified project resource to the application, not from an unknown application to something reputable.
Multiple official addresses can exist. What matters is a verified relationship, not assuming that every domain containing the brand must be legitimate.
Separate the address from the page title
A browser tab can say Lighter regardless of the underlying host. A page title is text chosen by the site, not a registration certificate.
The distinction between lighter and lihgter is small visually but complete technically. They are different strings and can lead to different operators.
Read the full address bar instead of relying on a truncated preview. Do not copy an address from the suspect terminal into another browser and call that verification.
A padlock, if displayed, only protects communication with that hostname. It does not approve the person asking for your wallet’s authority.
Read the wallet as a separate security boundary
The genuine wallet should show what it is asking you to approve. The website’s button label is not a substitute for that information.
Notice whether the prompt concerns viewing an address, signing data, authorizing spending, or transferring an asset. Treat unexpected changes between those tasks seriously.
MetaMask’s permission guidance helps distinguish application access from other authority. Use instructions appropriate to the wallet and network you actually used.
Removing a connection does not reverse a completed transaction. It also does not replace a secret key that was disclosed outside the wallet.
Preserve a Clear Record Before Chasing Explanations
Write a short sequence of events while it is still fresh: where the link came from, what address opened, and which requests appeared.
Separate what you saw from what you inferred. For example, an empty balance on a website is different from a confirmed transfer in the wallet.
Keep relevant public addresses and transaction hashes. They can help support teams or investigators follow activity without needing your private backup.
If a centralized exchange received an identifiable transfer, notify its official fraud team promptly with the evidence. Do not assume that tracing guarantees the assets can be returned.
A market loss, liquidation, and unauthorized transfer require different explanations. Do not let an impersonator describe every missing balance as ordinary trading risk.
At the same time, do not accuse the real Lighter platform based on activity that happened through a separate imitation.
A clear record makes that distinction easier and prevents another supposed helper from reshaping the story to sell a recovery service.
Check a Deposit Against Its Actual Destination
If you transferred assets while using the imitation, find the destination in the transaction record. Do not rely on the address displayed by a later support message.
Record which wallet sent the assets and on which network. An exchange-account reference and a blockchain transaction identifier answer different questions.
A real deposit should be assessed through the genuine service’s own process. A balance printed by the lookalike terminal cannot confirm that the genuine platform received anything.
Do not submit another transfer because a chat agent says the first deposit needs matching, activation, or a minimum balance. Those claims require independent verification.
If you contact official support, explain that you used a separate website. That helps distinguish a genuine account issue from an impersonation involving its name.
Keep evidence of the transfer even if the destination later disappears. A failed page does not erase the transaction or identify its recipient for you.
What to Do if You Have Fallen Victim to This Scam
Leave the false terminal and reject new prompts. Do not reconnect, fund the account, or follow its technical-support instructions.
Record the misspelled hostname and the wallet account involved. Keep the original link privately for reporting without encouraging others to open it.
Check the real wallet’s history. Identify any completed or pending action and compare it with what you meant to do.
Use an appropriate explorer reached independently if you need transaction details. Do not trust a transaction viewer supplied by the suspicious terminal.
Review and remove unwanted authority. Follow official wallet instructions for connections and any spending permissions actually granted.
Be precise about the network and affected assets. A generic revoke button on an unknown recovery page may create another authorization request.
Replace compromised secrets where necessary. If a recovery phrase or key was exposed, arrange a new securely created wallet and protect remaining assets through verified assistance.
Changing an app password does not replace the leaked key. Avoid adding funds blindly to a compromised wallet, where automatic theft may complicate a rescue.
Secure other access you actually disclosed. If you supplied an account password or API credential during the interaction, revoke or replace it through the genuine service.
Do not assume your trading account, mailbox, and wallet share one recovery process. Address each exposed credential through its own verified controls.
Investigate software only if there was relevant exposure. An installed extension or downloaded repair tool needs separate attention from a wallet authorization.
Malwarebytes can help inspect potential malware. AdGuard may reduce deceptive ad encounters, but neither reverses trades, cancels blockchain transfers, or repairs exposed recovery words.
Report and reject guaranteed rescue offers. Give genuine support or authorities the domain, public addresses, network, timestamps, and transaction records.
No stranger needs your wallet backup to read a public transaction. Do not pay another transfer to unlock a refund or supposedly prove ownership.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Lighter itself being called a scam?
No. This article concerns a separate imitation of the trading platform. It does not certify the genuine service’s investment suitability or accuse it of operating the clone.
What is wrong with lihgter-dex.xyz?
It is the reported imitation address. The first word reverses letters in lighter, while the dex suffix makes the hostname sound exchange-related.
Can a copied chart prove that a trading site is real?
No. Market information and interface elements can be reproduced. Verify the application’s identity independently before granting access or moving funds.
Did connecting alone authorize a transfer?
Not necessarily. Review the wallet’s actual requests and activity. A connection, a signed authorization, and a finalized transfer are different events.
Should I place a small trade to test the platform?
No. Do not use money or wallet authority to test a suspected impersonator. Confirm the destination through independently reached official resources first.
Will removing the website connection recover stolen crypto?
No. Disconnection does not reverse a transfer. Preserve evidence, address any remaining permissions, and seek verified help without expecting guaranteed recovery.
The Bottom Line
Avoid the fake Lighter terminal at the misspelled address. A convincing order screen cannot give an unrelated website authority to direct your wallet.
If you already interacted, examine the real account records and contain the actual exposure. Do not make another deposit to repair a problem described by the imitation.
