Kaspersky showed 15 disinfected objects after a quick scan. There's nothing in the quarantine folder and absolutely no logs regarding this important disinfection process. Lol. This is the second time this has happened to me. First the antivirus showed 65 disinfected objects after a full scan a couple of weeks ago, and now this. By this point I'm pretty sure it's a bug. I'm making a Kaspersky support ticket and will share the outcome with the community when it is available.

Thank you.

Thanks for sharing this, and for including the detailed screenshots. That is certainly unusual behavior, and I can see why you'd think it's a bug.

Looking at your first screenshot, the details for the scan show the result was from Heuristic analysis. Sometimes, with heuristic detections, the antivirus might identify a suspicious process or activity in the system's memory. The 'disinfection' could be the act of terminating that process rather than cleaning a file on the disk.

This might explain why there are no objects moved to quarantine and no detailed logs of specific files being actioned. The threat existed only in memory, was terminated, and the scan summary is just reporting it in a slightly confusing way.

You've absolutely done the right thing by creating a support ticket. That's the best way to get a definitive answer from the Kaspersky team.

Please do keep the community updated on what they say! It would be very helpful to know the official cause.

Most of what's on are false positives. AV is by no means perfect and human judgment has to override questionable decisions.

Unless you're going to go to a deliberately infected site, real malware infection is unlikely.

And the bad actors go to where the money is to hold computer systems hostage to extract it.

looking at the logs it seems it is saying items that can't be scanned as disinfected.
