Hot Take 3P-Matrix-lite version 2 available in the webstore (easy to use uMatrix like security using Mv3 DNR rules)

What would be the most useful setting for use on most websites? Right now I have the start-up level set to three. I know I can change it when and where needed per site, but I am still curious.

EDIT: Also, is there a way to have uBoL Stripped block ads on Youtube?

I use startup level 3. The easy medium mode hardly needs tweaking. I have surfed to all important websites and locked them on 1. For testing purposes I have locked a few website on level4.

I submitted V2.06 to chrome store, only level 2 had the bug (showing other extensions blocks).

For whitelisting important websites I will add an import ¨Lock websited for level 1" in level 1 (make it a button, because it does not need the SHOW BLOCKS button (now greyed out).

Yes and it uses AdGuard Base filter (enable it). That is why I included all AG scriptlets in uBol-stripped and dumped the non-native procedural filters (only include native procedural filters which are handed very efficient in Chrome by Chrome itself).

P.S. I am not bashing mr Hill. he really is a great programmer, but my guess is that his fanboy clan puts pressure on him to match AG Mv3 (and AG is with a team of developers, before UA-RU conflict they had 2 dozen develpers, may be it is less now with AI-assisted coding, but still way more than the uBO/uBOL one man band mr Hill show, this is also the reason I am shamelessly using AG open source scriptlets and filters, when your competitor has more resources, you need to act smart).

That is the reason I started with uBO-lite (good bones, but hastily put on features), stripped it (using the really excellent skeleton), refactored it and started using AG sources in the new multi-tier modular design.

I hope I have found a persistent bug (some optimalization of Mr Hill I did not see in time, so in 2.07 which is in Chrome Store now the cosmetic filters don´t work). I am refactoring it now (only use functionality in 1 module on 1 place, don´t apply tricks to partially reuse that code on other places). This will have a performance impact, so first structure than make it fast again. I thought I would finish this tonight, but I encountered more pitfalls than I had foreseen.

Thank you, I have activated the Adguard Base Filter.

Thanks for version 2.0.8.
As I said before, I have two suggestions about the show-blocks-panel.
1. It looks like the extension continues seeking if there are no blocks. I prefer to be notified that there aren't blocks.
2. The window of the show-blocks-panel stays open after a session is closed. Please let it shut down.

PS: Also a custom added TLD is not saved.

For people curious to know whether their requests have been implemented in version 3..1.8 (yes it took some time to gt it right)

Will probably take a few days before it is available in the webstore. I will create a separate thread for it

Version 2.1.1 has landed in the Chrome webstore.
- bugs reported by @Jan Willy should be fixed (thanks a lot Jan 🏆🏆🏆 )
- level 2 and 3 now also have SHOW BLOCKS and Domain Whitelist
- Level 1 has import function to lock websites at level1 (allow all)

How to use
1.Install
2.Import domains you want to always allow (lock at level 1)
3.Surf to dodgy domains and lock them on level 4 (fallback to level 3 when it breaks)
4.Use it for a while and add additional domains you want to lock to level 1 (always allow) or 4 (dodge websites who you want to always contain)
5. Change startup level to 2 (uBO easy enhanced security mode) or 3 (JW's easy medium mode).

Please report issues, I think this version is ready to battle test by former uBO medium mode and uMatrix fans

3P-Matrix-lite offers simular protection as API Void Script Stop combined with some protections of API-Void Browser Protection with the following advantages
a) easier to use interface with configuration presets and visual feed back of the active level (icon color changes)
b) offers to lock levels per website (like NoScript) to allways allow important websites (lock level 1) or always contain dodgy websites (lock level 4 with 3 as fallback)
c) has a default protection level in which it starts (startup mode) and allows for on the fly level changes (for the current session) by moving the slider

In addition to that it has some fun features in Level 2 (adding more TLD's on the blacklist using a slider) and level 3 (same for the TLD whitelist)

Maybe I did something incorrectly, but I wanted to see how the optimal mode works in uBoL Stripped. But every time I set it on optimal, the second the menu closes, the setting is back at basic. I even tried to set it manually in filtering modes.

Maybe this is where I did something wrong? I probably do not need to use optimal mode, but I just wanted to see the difference between basic and optimal.

@Jan Willy and @oldschool readability of Creat DNR rules in uBol-stripped should be solved in 3.7.2

@Morro, it was experiment which did not work (because I am using a different way of injecting scripts to facilitate AG-scriptlets and keep injection size same as uBol)

On the plus side (having both uBol-scriptlets and AG-scriptlets) more Security & Privacy features are offered in 3.7.2 uBol-stripped

Can I use uBol-stripped in optimal mode by default and lower it to basic mode when needed for an individual site?
To get rid of most of the useless cookie notices.
That was not working for me with version 3.3.5 from the chrome store.
Or did I do something wrong?

Will you consider publishing in the Edge add-ons store?

I had one problematic website when doing a quick test with all security and privacy options enabled:
Adblocker detected.

@Gandalf_The_Grey

I took me some time before I understood how mr Hil applied its levels on several spots in the code. I could not understand what was wrong with the code (I looked at the wrong spot it was applied somewhere else). That is why I decided to disable optimal mode and publish a working version and do some bug tracking through logs in the mean time. V3.7.2 is submitted to the webstore.

V3.7.2 does not run into adblocker detected on loopings.nl. That is probably because I removed some old uBO-lite code. But thanks for bringing it up, I will look at it.

What is the advantage for Edge users to have it in Edge store also (I thought they can install from Chrome store also)?

I first want V3.7.2 to be published (because that is really a cleaned up version). I am now working on adding AG cookiewall and anti-adblock functionality.
