Thanks for sharing. For anyone downloading Linux ISOs, a couple of safety-minded best practices help avoid corrupted or tampered downloads.

Safer download / verification tips
  • Prefer the project’s official download links and mirrors (and avoid “repacked” downloads from third-party sites).
  • If the project provides checksums (SHA256/SHA512) and/or a GPG signature, verify them after downloading. A hash match confirms integrity; a valid signature (when available) is even stronger.
  • If you use SourceForge, make sure you’re on the correct project page and that the downloaded filename matches what the project lists in its release notes.
  • After writing the ISO to USB, if your tool offers a “verify” option, run it to catch write errors early.
