Battle Adobe Reader, Foxit Reader or Nitro PDF Reader?

Voted None. I use either Chrome, Adobe Reader Touch or MS Reader from the Windows Store. Also Chrome has Print to PDF, which is more than enough for my needs. Although no editing.
Office 2013 for editing? You said once you were going to buy it...

I don't have Office 2013, but I do have a trial of Office 365 Home Premium at the moment.

I like PDF-Xchange as it was (and still is for all I know) the only freeware pdf app with built-in Optical Character Recognition functionality. And OCR really comes in handy when printed text is scanned into the computer

Sumatra is the lightest solution for a PDF reader. But If u want to do more than just PDF , i would personally suggest Foxit. Currently i'm a user of Sumatra and completely satisfied with its performance over system resources and responsiveness.
